Certification is a small but important component of our
environmental responsibility. Here are third party
certifications and verifications related to our products.
NSF/ANSI 140
- NSF/ANSI 140 Sustainable Carpet Assessment Standard (SCAS)
evaluates the environmental impact of carpet for its entire life
cycle.
- All InterfaceFLOR products with GlasBac®RE backing meet the
Platinum level.
- GlasBac or NexStep® backed products meet the Gold level.
- All GlasBacRE, GlasBac and NexStep products may contribute
toward the USGBC LEED® Innovation in Design Credit for NSF/ANSI
140.
EPD
- InterfaceFLOR is first in its industry to earn an Environmental
Product Declaration (EPD), which evaluates consistent factors based
on full life cycle assessment (LCA).
- Our EPD is based on our Convert™ products--products that
contain never before seen levels of post-consumer content and
illustrate our commitment to reducing virgin raw materials and
taking responsibility for products at their end of use.
- InterfaceFLOR is committed to having an EPD on all products
globally by the end of 2012.
CRI Green Label Plus
- An independent testing program that identifies carpet and
adhesives with very low emissions of VOCs to help improve indoor
air quality.
- All InterfaceFLOR carpet tile manufactured in North America
meets the requirements of the CRI Green Label Plus criteria.
- Certification # GLP0820 for GlasBac and GlasBacRE backed
products.
- Certification # GLP1641 for NexStep backed products.
- Graphlar backed products manufactured in Europe meet the
requirement.
Cool Carpet
- Cool Carpet™, our carbon offset program, is third-party
verified--ensuring that when you buy InterfaceFLOR carpet tile, we
tally up the greenhouse gas (GHG) it will emit throughout its
entire lifecycle. Then, we zero out every pound of your carpet's
GHG emissions with carbon offsets like investments in renewable
energy. Which makes your purchase climate neutral.
